Sounds (g) as if you are getting to the fun part.   re ?? radio:: in my
relatively small no. of " restored to rolling" corvairs, I discovered that
non-working radios are sometimes really just " mice-eaten " speakers.
Apparently the fibrillating fabric is especially enticing to mice ...
