It's another one of those gimmicks that looks like it would work unless you
know a little about electricity. The spark is not "smart" enough to know it
can spread out. It will take the path of least resistance and arch to a
single spot. Since a plug fires pretty fast (five times a second at an idle
speed of 600 rpm, 25 times per second at 3000 rpm), it looks like the spark
is spread out to the human eye. In reality, each spark is distinct and to a
single point - no different than a regular plug.
