<VV> Care/installation of older Weatherstripping

Hey guys/gals,
       I need some advice...I have come across a NOS weatherstripping set for 
the trunk and engine compartment...Other than a minor crimp, it is all nice a 
pliable and soft...Is there any risk in installation of it? They have been in 
their boxes since the early 80's.....
      Another question...Is there any remedy for flat spots on tires from 
sitting while the rear has been jacked up for an extended time?
      Still looking for a 65 4spd diff BTW
