 Folks,

Quite a few of us arrived on Sat eve and began the most important
part of the weekend; telling "car stories". Brian O'Neill bought the first
round at the adjacent restaurant/bar and many of us, including Donna Mae,
adjourned to eat there. This was followed by more stories and watching the
finish of the Bristol race

Sunday was gorgeous. We started the formal sessions with a
presentation including video by Rick Stansbury on car safety, oriented
toward on-track or competition situations. Many aspects discussed applied
to street applications like, for instance, changing from the stock seats to
other mfg. seats.

During the day, a number of local folks showed up with their
Corvairs.

We had a 50-50 with some goodies from Chevrolet passed out followed
by the lunch break. At 1 pm we had a very informative, highly technical
presentation by Ken Klingaman on compression ratios applied to cam choice,
etc. with handouts of his slides. This was followed by in-car video and
track talk by Jim Schardt and Norm Latullippe. After this, we had the
mandatory Drivers' safety meeting and multiple door prize awards including
the 50-50.

More socializing and Dinner followed by everyone going to their
rooms relatively early as the track gates opened at 7 am.

Thanks to the presenters and to Rad Davis for bringing the computer
projector so Ken could use power point slides.

The Hampton Inn folks were very nice.
