Driving back from a cruise night tonight, our '66 Turbo, with brand new
engine, started to hesistate and buck a bit. We stopped to get gas before
going home to check out the engine. After gasing up the car, it just bearly
started. Then, the car started to perform normally, so we took it back on
the expressway. It ran fine for a couple of miles and then it started to
break up again.

When we arrived home, we needed to rearrange the vehicles to put it in the
garage. When we went to restart it 5 minutes later, it wouldn't start!
This is the 3rd battery that we have had "problems" with, the first two had
one bad cell. We are using Auto Craft Silver battery. Everything appeared
to be okay in the engine. All of the spark plugs wires were secure,
distributor is tight, and timing is okay. The only that has come loose is
the oil sending wire, but that should not affect the performance of the car.

We will check the spark plugs tomorrow when they are cool. Could the
alternator be bad or going bad and not charging or could there be a short in
the wiring? The engine wire harness and the voltage regulator are both new
and the starter is rebuilt

Thanks,
