Just FYI
I have both Corvair cars and FC's. I have worked on the sender/float units on
both.  I also have worked on the sender units on my 55 Chevy pickup and my 58
Chevy Bel-Air and they all seem to use the same brass float.  It would appear
that all of the older GM products use the same brass float on their particular
sending units.
