In an article loaded with cautions about the speculative nature of classic-car investing, the writer puts the Corvair on his "buy" list, citing "Mint versions of cute, criticized Corvair [that] cost about as much in today's dollars as they did in '65. They can hardly go down."

He appraises the 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Monza coupe at $4,575-$5,225, with appreciation over the past five years at 43 percent, and over the past 10 years at 100 percent.
