Mike-3 main things to attend to are;;1- hold-down 'nails' and springs,they rust thin,and pull thru backing plate;;2-self adjuster MUST be free,especially the tip;;3- wear grooves on the backing plate from the shoe edge,should be a flat pad (3 per shoe) ,i've built some back up with mig welder and ground smooth again (easier than changing the backing plate)..would be wise to have a correct hardware kit on hand,tho,and do one at a time so you can look at other side if you forget what-went-where...Tom
