I got the following note from a VV member and thought I should pass it along 
for all those who plan on replacing their brakes. It was quite a task to 
grind 
down the 4 adjusters using a bench grinder, but it worked. I had to take a 
little more than 1/8" off each part.

"I had the same problem and wrote Clark's about it.
They said that they configure the brake pad to be
installed with THEIR adjuster, which is slightly
smaller than the stock adjuster that came with the
cars, thus the tight fit (or non-fit). I had already
had the drums turned considerably to make them fit
properly, so it was too late to just get the new
adjusters..."
