Hello to all, from the new guy in Northern California!

I have spent the last 3 days scouring the entire internet for Corvair information (need more input). I have become suddenly infatuated with the late model Corsa 'Verts . . . more importantly, my wife has. This is the first sign of interest she has shown toward any car, outside of her '02 Grand Am GT. I pretty much dig all cars and motorcycles, but have leaned (heavily) toward the vintage Volkswagens for the last almost 20 years. With that background, it's hard to believe that I hadn't noticed the Corvair sooner! I knew that some fruit loops put those AC 6s into a rail or buggy. I have even known of an extreme pervert or two to ruin a completely beautiful VW by putting the Corvair powerplant into it. I NEVER would consider it personally, though.

My wife has always been considerate of me though by putting up with my "fanaticism". For the longest time, I only and exclusively drove an AC VW except when she and I went somewhere together, then she would "let" me drive her car. Then, last Friday night, she brought a book home from Barnes and Noble - a coffee table book of Americas Greatest Convertibles. She claimed she was looking for a little something for me when I asked her if she was feeling alright because she bought a car book. She said she flipped through it, saw the little red Corvair 'vert and bought the book. She opened the page for me and said "That's cute - I'd drive one of those". You have no idea how much that means to me. I am willing to convert from VWs to 'Vairs just because she said that! And the best part? I don't have to change my email addy! With this list (there is a similar one for the VW Bus people) I will be able to make a seamless transition.

I am now in the market and have even sold a couple of my VWs to fund and make room for a new Vair 'vert for the wife.
