Am I the only one who noticed the what is this on the engine of this same 
Corvair on Ebay (7991597865)?

Take a look at the air intake going to the carbs.  On the left is a copper 
tube sticking up and on the right you can see a hole where, most likely 
another copper tube was once soldered in.

Were these for some sort of water injection system or what is their purpose?
