Thanks for the suggestions, guys. The heat gun did
exactly what I needed it to do and the wrinkles came
out very uniform. got it painted in about 2/3 hours
last night, and now I'm letting everything cure in the
sun. only 70 here today (nice for me, not so nice for
trying to bake paint onto something.)

I did get two bubly spots on the piece, but they're
low down, and didn't stay bubbles...mostly just
non-uniform wrinkles. I'm okay with that though. I'm
not particularly a perfectionsit when it comoes to
this kind of stuff....but I did tape it of quite
nicely, and I'll have some pictures later on today
probably for you to check out.

Oh, and I used 220 on the aluminum, used cheapie
"Omega" sandable primer(I just used one coat) used
320 grit on the primer very lightly, and two coats of
the wrinkle paint (um, Pasti-Cote brand wrinkle paint)
(about 10-15 minutes apart). I used a heat gun to
create the wrinkles, but a hair dryer would have
probably worked better, I had to be VERY careful not
to bubble the paint with as much heat as that thing
put out. and I just worked over the whole thing
slowly, making sure to not leave the heat on so long
that it would bubble, cause then I woulda had to start
all over again!

Like I said, it wasn't that hard, and came out looking
quite nicely, if I do say so myself. *puffs out
chest* <GG>

Thanks,
Ryan V
