<VV> gas tank senders

...what's the difference between 61-64 senders,and 65-66 ones,if the tanks fit 61-69...?? need to put a tank in a 62,have a couple from 65's that don't leak and a sender from ?? that i cleaned the hoo-haa out of that still seems to have a working 30-ohm unit ---plan to solder a ground wire from the float rod to the inside tube,still allowing for rod travel....are the senders different enough to not work in the wrong year for some reason?..btw,used "chisel"gasket remover,from Loctite,to eat the brown crap from inside the tin cover...oven cleaner may work,also without damaging the resistance wire,and is water-soluble....TIA--,Tom Z/66 corsa,65 monza/gutted in grp-red,62 spyder and 65 corsa turbo arriving this weekend...plus parts..
