<VV> Something interesting about the horn

I discovered something over the weekend that I haven't seen mentioned
before. The problem was the horn on my '65 Monza would sometimes sound
for no reason . . wouldn't really stick, shaking the wheel would make it
stop. What really made me decide to look was when I was removing a wheel
and I kicked the tire and the horn beeped!! What I found was this.
Inside the hub on the turn signal assembly is a wire with female spade
connector where the brass ring attaches... the female connector has a
small "finger" that sticks up and prevents the connector from moving
down out of its slot. This finger was bent flat on my car and the
fitting was free to move down... anytime it did, the end of the
connector would make contact with the metal part of the assembly and the
horn would sound. I bent the finger back out where it belonged (and put
a drop of superglue for good measure) and the problem is gone... Just
thought this might be of interest to someone out there...
