Or - it could be the ring gear is worn out, bent, broken, missing a tooth or 
two?  More common on PG cars which have it on the torque converter.  I don't 
think he said what trans he has.  But, I agree, most likely the bendix (or 
whatever it is called on a Vair - overunning clutch assembly?) is the 
problem?  Pictures at Page 6Y-25 to 28, 65 shop manual.

Attachments (if any) are scanned with anti-virus software.
