<VV> Late model posi axle plunge

Stock LM posi differential:

 Seems to me that the non-posi-side (in a posi) has a lot more in and out 
movement than the other side-presumably due to the two concave disks (and 
the rest of the posi-pack)  keeping the gear nut against the pinion /spider 
gear shaft. I measure almost .040 movement at the gear nut on the non-posi 
side. Is this the case?

Do both axles plunge equally?
