IMHO, about the best and cheapest way to tighten up the cross shaft set up
is to use some brass or other metal to make bushings. Simply cut a piece of
brass tubing about 3/8" long and then slice it length wise so it can be
spread over the shaft and then slip it inside the holes. it can be held in
place with a crimp or a dab of JB Weld where it can't be seen. This also
works for the small links, but a bit more difficult due to their small
size. Teflon strips or tubing also work in a pinch. If you work with the
tubing while it is on the link, it's a bit easier. Hope this helps.
