I haven't done this, but I have pressed a number of other things in and 
out of Corvair aluminum, so I'd approach this by heating the crankcase 
a bit with a torch, coat with anti-sieze, and use Geoff Johnson's 
suggestion of chamfering the bottom of the tube.
