Head rests are ably covered in the January 1990 (Vol. 12, No. 1) corsa 
communique by our resident head rest maven, Mark Corbin, in a Stock Is... column he 
guest-wrote filling in for larry claypool.  

1969 Corvair Fingertip Facts by Mark Ellis & Dave Newell says; "At 
introduction in September '68, head restraints became standard equipment on all 1969 
Corvairs.  Although not necessary until the next round of federal safety 
standards that went into effect on Januray 1, 1969, GM management decided they would 
be included from the start on all their 1969 cars."
