<VV> RE: Changing "reply" for VV

Every e-mail has a "From" and a "Reply-To" in the header. On every list
I've been on, the "From" is the originator, and the "Reply-To" is the List
address.

When I ask a question on VirtualVairs@Corvair.org, it goes to everyone on
the list. I presume that if I ask a question, it would be useful for
everybody on the list to hear the answer, too. That's part of the way we
build an archive of useful information so different people aren't
continually asking the same question over and over. If I don't want the
whole list to see the answer, I'll say "please reply privately to
me". There is never any reason to do a "Reply All", because replying to
the List will always include the originator as well, because he is a member
of the List.

If I want to respond privately to the originator, I just copy his address I
can find in the "From" header.

Of course you guys can do things any way you want to, and you've probably
gotten used to doing it this way, but it's confusing to those of us who are
on a bunch of other lists that use a more common mechanism. I don't know
how many times I've replied and then realized my reply did not go to the
list, but only to the originator. That defeats the purpose of a discussion
list, in my estimation.

JMHO YMMV, I'll shut up now since I'm the newbie. :)
