Uh........correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the nitritided cranks only
offered on the turbo engines?  It understanding that all long stroke corvair
crankshafts and all short stroke turbo crankshafts were made of a forged
chromium steel alloy but only the turbo crankshafts received the nitriding.
The 110Hp and 140Hp engines shared the same torque output whereas the turbos
were much higher requiring the increased strength and wear resistance in the
crankshaft.
