Harry, I believe the original "BOP compacts"
(1961-1963) were unibody. They also had LOTS of
special engineering features (flexible driveshafts,
sawed off V-8s to make a 4, aluminum engines,
turbocharging).

In 1964 they went "conventional", sharing the same
architecture as the original Chevelle. Body on frame,
cast-iron engines (including straight 6's),
conventional drivetrains.

GM A bodies of the
period. There is NO common bond between the two.
The GM A bodies were body on frame construction, not
unibody.
