Yes it is true.  Just type "Laura Bush accident" into Google and a dozen
variations of the story are just a mouse click away.  The guy was Michael
Dutton Douglas also aged 17 and he was driving a 1962 Corvair sedan.  He
apparently broke his neck in the accident which occurred on the night of
November 6, 1963.  However, it wasn't a stop light, but a stop sign.

My wife was watching some show on biography she thinks  , and it was about 
Laura Bush. She said in high school Laura ran a stop light  and hit a guy 
driving a Corvair. He was killed instantly they said. Did anyone  else see
this?
