<VV> Spooky Story

I just went through almost the same thing with my '66 chevy pick-up with
a carb'd 350 vortec. Stalled just like a fuel problem about 11 miles
into my drive home from work (around 12 miles total), started fine after
I pulled over to the side of the road and made it home fine. Two days
and four commutes later stalls about a mile into the trip to work,
started up, made it another block, stalled, re-started, idled down a
side street, stalled, wouldn't restart, towed home. Replaced elect fuel
pump and hei distributor ( shotgun approach to problem solving ), drove
around the block, stalled, restarted, idled home. Replaced coil,
wouldn't start, bad coil. Replaced coil, drove 1/2 mile, stalled,
restarted, stalled, idled a bit, stalled, towed home. Rebuilt edelbrock
600cfm carb, runs great, four 5 mile test drives without a problem so
far.

Carb problem would have been my last guess but so far it seems to be the
fix.
