Subject: <VV> 1964 monza vapor lock???

After a long hot run, and a 5 minute hot soak, (shut down), the car will
start up and run fine for about 1/4 mile and than act like it's running out
of gas. nothing will get it back on the road except a complete cool down
(hours) and then after a long crank, (filling the carbs ???) it runs fine.

Try something easy and free! When you stop after a hot run, open the deck
lid to allow the heat to escape before it boils all the fuel out of the
carbs. If this helps, you know it is vapor lock. My solution was to
install an electric fuel pump on a toggle switch to repressure the carbs
before starting. Then drive on the mechanical pump.
