Grenade (correct spelling?)
 The post about the pressure on the rod journals at rpm reminds me about an 
article about peak pressures.
 A high comp NA engine has very hight PEAK pressure in the combustion chamber 
and therefore  on the rod journals.
A turbo engine producing the same horse power may have just as high of an 
effective comp ratio but the pressure is more spread about the duration of 
combustion and therefore the peak pressure on the journals is much less.
   Detonation voids all of the above,
