John,

I'd be curious to see what the concensus is on this one. I recently aquired
a '61 Rampside that required a 1700mile journey to get home. My co-pilot on
the trip owns a '64 Corvan, and he commented afterwards that he prefered the
early shifter setup as it didn't require as long a reach to change gears as
his late through the tank set up does, and he's about 6ft tall.

You might want to try joining Corvanatics, as it is the list dedicated to
FCs

Regards,
Joel

Subject: <VV> 63-65 FC (Shift thru) gas tank on a 61 Greenbrier?

All,

This is the first in string of 10,000 questions I'm sure to pose to you guys
and gals: I have a 61 Greenbrier that the previous owner actually screwed
the gas tank to the body with 5 metal screws from the inside. I've siphoned
and removed the tank, and I'm wondering if I should buy the used 63-65 FC
(shift thru) I can get from Clarks, or have the original repaired (holes in
the top from the screws)? The rest of the original tank is in fair shape -
no rust (Scottsdale, AZ vehicle) and few if any dents.

Will the 63-65 FC (shift thru) gas tank work on a 61 Greenbrier?

Who are the FC specialist out there, and are any close to Lansing, Michigan?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

W. John Lanese
