Heads do not  contact the BLOCK  anywhere.....if you mean the "cylinders] 
[barrels], yes there are BASE  gaskets.....and they are used to set "Deck 
height"......don't ask now!

Don't worry so much...you will build a great engine.......you're so 
nervous..you check...re check...re check the recheck........gggg
