I second the opinion on the top-cover gasket.  If it's leaking at the rear, the high-pressure environment it's in can push oil out under the fan housing right where the oil-pressure switch is.  Spray carb cleaner on the switch area to clean it off, then start the engine and see if more oil bubbles out.

Two additional thoughts:

If you do replace your switch, note that the torque spec is in INCH-lbs., not FOOT-lbs. DAMHIK.

To avoid the backache Norm mentions, I have found that an elastic brace like you see so many warehouse workers wearing gives me many more minutes of bent-over work time than working without it.  Just be sure to release the belt when you stand up for a while.  Leaving it tight too long can cause other complications.
