After further testing I have decided I bit off on a hoax.  When it worked for me, I was close enough to the car that it appeared to be working. (My new car (05) transmitter has a much longer range than other cars that I own or have owned) and threw me a curve.  Don't waste your time.  Sure did sound good though.  Oh well, I still have Onstar free on the 05 for the remainder of one year, and it is supposed to work. Sorry about that.
