<VV> 3 on tree

You haven't lived until you shift an old chevy with a "3 on the tree" and vacuum assist.
 
Took my first driving test on a '47 chevy coupe with this setup.
 
Really fun when it quit working.
 
Corvair content...  The General was smart enough to NOT equip Corvairs with this option.

GM pitched as "modern" in the late '30s, will have to see if I can find so advts. Oddest I ever had was a three on the tree + o/d in a Citroen ID-19. Conventional for the first three gears then away and up for the singing o/d.
