---Wyoming cops write tickets?----

Sure do. On the big road trip (Denver to Black Hills to Yellowstone and home) I was stopped on a state highway doing 6 over the limit by a trooper coming the other way against a line of about 10 cars. I just arrived at the back of a line of 10 cars. I didn't heed my friend's warning, put out the previous Memorial Day weekend, that people with Wyo. plates wouldn't be stopped for 5 over but any more than that and you would be.

The good news is that speeding on the interstate in Wyoming is a zero-point violation, for insurance purposes.

----- Don't try that in Colorado. They have been know to write out of state cars for 1 mile over then give you an envelope and watch you but the check in it then take you to the nearest mail box. Plus any thing more the 25 over it's straight to jail for 72 hours unless they changed that law. So a 41 in a 15 mph school zone at 2 Am means your SOL.

Hey Rich,

Having two homes, in Wyoming and Colorado, and Wyoming plates gives me the extra exposure. I have been ticketed, both times for 10 over when I was doing more than that, and let off with a warning on 3-4 others, I think because I'm a nice, respectful and polite guy. Both times the cop gave me the envelope and I went on my merry way.

Meanwhile, it is easy to see why the cops give you such preferential treatment. 25 over is handled as a felony in more states than just Colorado and not just in a school zone. I will clue you in that if you get caught doing 41 in my grandson's school zone, just be happy it is a cop and not me or my neighbors that caught you. We give SOL lessons. I'm hard pressed to believe you'd admit to that!
