Well I have been reading all the posts about this and thought I'd put my 2
cents in on it. I'm one of those people that has been referred to as a
freeloader. I don't belong to CORSA at this time but have in the past. The closest
Corvair club is a 3 hour drive away, and yes I belong to it. What benefits do
I get? A monthly newsletter and I attend their car show once a year. The
other Corvair club I belong to is 1700 miles away. I am on ssd and cannot afford
to go to a National convention so a member ship to CORSA for me would mean
one more monthly newsletter. I totally enjoyed the newsletter form CORSA when I
got it. It was well done and I know the work that goes into putting one out.
I have nothing against CORSA But for me it's financial reasons. In the past
I have read what a few have said about spending money foolishly elsewhere
and not joining CORSA. Well that's my choice not CORSA's to decide. I join
things that are fun , and lately it seems like most of the posts are either
attacking someone or Pushing membership, or books. Make it fun and they will come.
Lets not forget this is each person's choice to join or not. If a CORSA
sales person starts hounding me to buy anything I'll tell them like I tell any
other pushy salesperson, GET LOST. CORSA does a lot for our hobby, but without
the local clubs supporting it it's nothing. Lets try to make this a fun hobby
and one all can afford. Now let the flames fly, I have thick skin.
Ron T (The Freeloader)
