As with many things "it depends". If you mount it low up front, you
lose a lot of trunk space, but that's best for your CG. Now, with the
smaller batteries available, you could probably find one so as not to
lose the entire bottom of the trunk. I have mine on top of the gas
tank, which leaves a good size trunk, but it gives away some
performance.
