I'm aware (but don't know the specifics) that seat buns for other GM 
products of the era can also be used.  Many are wider than the Corvair 
seats.  If the shape is correct, they can be used by slicing down the 
center, removing an inch or two - whatever is needed to obtain the correct 
width and then gluing the two halves back together.  This may be a little 
extra effort, but comes out Just Fine.  This was done on my vert, but I 
understand that later on (after my seats were done) the correct size buns 
became available - so perhaps this method is no longer needed?
