<VV> Dummy Drivetrain

You really don't need a dummy drivetrain on a late model to "roll" it around
Mark, at Southwest Corvair had a homemade device that works just fine. I
don't have the exact measurements but they can easily be determined so here
goes:

Cut a 2" diameter pipe approx. 54" (I think) and drill a hole diagonally
across each end that is large enough to accept the stock outer strut rod
bolts. cut two smaller diameter pieces of pipe approx 8" long each and
weld them at a right angle to the above pipe approx 5" from the end of the
pipe, both facing the same direction so that when you insert the end of the
long pipe into the outer strut rod bracket, the shorter smaller pipes will
each brace up against the lower shock mount. This will keep the wheels apart
and straight up and down enough to be able to roll the car during the time
the drive train is removed.
I don't have my drawing at hand for the exact measurements I gave above but
if you measure and fit as you go, this will work and you will have a
valuable tool that can come in handy for future project cars as well as the
one you are making it for.
