Delorean was a great car guy, but definitely not a Corvair guy.  The book "On 
a Clear Day You Can See GM" started with his input, but my recollection was 
he distanced himself from it because he didn't want GM to cause trouble for his 
other business interests.  Still a great book though.  He turned the Pontiac 
brand into the performance marque for GM (in the early fifties it was 
Oldsmobile and their Rocket 88).
