<VV> Convertible rear arm rest panels

Has anyone ver looked at the convertible rear armrests for both early and
late models?  I know that the top trim plate is different(one is long and
one is about 3" square) and the top panel on the early has the additional
tab to support the long trim plate....  But other than that, is there any
difference between the armrests for earlies and lates?  To me, they sure
look the same.
