<VV> Article on decoding 1965-67 Fisher tag codes in MayCommunique

Joe, let me reply for Kent by saying that his article was focused only on
decoding the accessory code line, as that is the one that has eluded us for
years. The other lines are well understood, and explained in many other
locations.

The date code is in the first line, and consists of two numbers and a
letter. The two numbers indicate the month, and the letter (A-E) indicates
the week (1-5). Thus, 04C would mean the third week of April. As for the
year, that is indicated in the VIN, although you would infer for months
09-12 (Sept-Dec) that the year it was built is actually the year prior (1963
for a 1964 car, etc). As for the cars built in August, that can sometimes
be a little tricky, but the overall look of the car should solve that one.

BTW, for all you curious folks out there, I am working on the 1964 codes.
Most are known now, but there are still a few mysteries. I hope to get
something out in the next few months, assuming work gives me the time.

Bill Hubbell
