<VV> re;rusty springs

Joe,it's my understanding that on springs and hardened steel parts the surface is important - when it's compromised,it no longer has the properties needed to do the job...semi-auto pistols use a coil spring to feed the rounds,and it's recommended the spring be changed after so many years,as they get weak;rust-thru on a valve spring ,which is rather brittle,would lead to failure...they're how old?replace them...
