Vairheads,
Here's progress so far on my 'Vair powered Porsche 550 Spyder project:
Part's arrived from California Import Parts to include:
New complete floor pans (Left & Right sides)
   Front Disc Brake Calipers
   Front Discs
   Bearings and Seals
New spindles are supposed to arrive next week.
The left side floor pan has been preliminarily fitted. Will trim and weld in the pans over the weekend.
Sent the check to Perry Ds Inc for the body kit. Body should arrive with in 2-3 weeks.
Jeff (the owner of Perry D's) informed me that his car weighs 1310 lbs with full fuel!
Talked extensively with an ex-corvair SCCA racer in Fargo, Jon Brakke. Jon was a wealth of knowledge, and we both shared some ideas and experiences.
I modeled in UG the brake rotors, and created a pattern. Checked the weight of the rotor, before and after the drill pattern resulting in a .75 lbs weight savings. I plan on modeling the hub portion of the rotor and add more cutouts for an even greater savings.
After which I'll save the file to a floppy and give it to the machine shop and they can machine the rotors right from the UG file.
