I drilled out the riveted t-stat bracket and replaced with 1/4x20 
bolts. I slotted the original holes. Now I can replace a t-stat without 
undoing the door/clip/rod.  The slots make adjustments really easy.  A 
concourse judge would object to the two extra bolts and the slots, but 
the slots are inconspicuous and the extra bolts would seem ok to the 
casual non-judge.   -ron 65,66
