Isopropyl has been the only way to go for years. Methanol acts like Gumout or Techron and cleans out your whole fuel system. If that has been done on a regular basis over the life of the car there is no problem. If not, it is like adding Liquid Drano to a drain. All the "stuff" will come out and be forced through the end of the fuel system.

Add one bottle of Iso per month November through April. If the temperature goes below freezing and you are caught out overnight with less than half a tank of gas, carry one bottle just for such an emergency. Use Stabil for your collector or not very often driven cars or for gas lawn equipment.

Minnesota winters taught me this lesson and others. Keep your tires aired up. Keep your doors, hinges and locks lubricated with WD 40 and Lock Ease. Use Aquapel on your windows, mirrors, turn signal and brake lights. Use Bon Ami to clean the inside of your windows as it has a natural anti-fogging property. Make sure your battery is good. Change to winter wiper blades and keep them clean.

You can almost always go in snow. If there is ice, home is nice.
