A little update on the progress on my 1965 500 sedan....

Since the engine is now running, the next steps are to get the gas tank and
brakes operational. I have the dual master cylinder kit from Lon and also have
all new wheel cylinders and hoses. I still need to get the metal lines.
Yesterday Terry Kalp and I moved some cars around in his shop (the current home
of the sedan) so there would be plenty of room to work on the sedan. The
sedan then when full group red, four jack stands. Terry tackled the gas tank
removal, while I worked on the brakes. During this process, we discovered that
the front floors were badly rusted. Terry offered me a few different cars to get
replacements. That was great, but I didn't want to spend more time getting
the car back on the road.

This morning I returned to finish removing the brake lines. Then I went to
work on getting to the front floors from the top side. Out came the front bench
and the villainous rubber mat to uncover the floor. It was worse than I
thought based on what I could see from the bottom. I took a smoke break and went
to look at a couple of the donors. One car had the front seats out so I
pulled up the carpet. I could hardly believe what I saw, two nearly new
replacement floor pans. The best part is that they were just screwed down around the
perimeter. I asked Terry if he knew about the car's floor. He had never looked
under the carpet. I told him what I found and he said that I was very luck.
I'd have to agree.

The plan is to get the new floors welded in tomorrow....
