I think Bill is right - Brain fade - I think it was 68 when the VIN moved  to 
the dash. At least on the Camaro it was on the door post in 67, not on the  
dash until 68. The Corvair was likely still in the engine compartment. The  
stamped one is still located behind the front crossmember. -  Seth
