i had a power trunk on my lakewood years ago.  it was just a nice  button 
under the dash hooked direct. i sold the car after a few years...to a  person in 
canada.  this person was driving the car at a good speed with a  friend. the 
friend reached over and asked as he pushed the button what it was  for. after 
that deal(lots of damage reported) i put the power feed to the  trunk thru the 
neutral safety switch so the car has to be in neutral  to  open the trunk. i 
dont have that problem with forward control vehicles...
