<VV> Convertible Rear Window

I just put a towel on the window before I fold the top down on my '65.  Don't know if that's the "best" way but it works for me (so far).

Just a quick question to you long time experienced Vair drop-top owners....Will 
it damage the rear window to fold down the top without unzipping the rear 
window and folding it down into the well, first?
