i am sure you have never seen this one, but i have to mention it. a long  
time ago i bought a nice lakewood cheap because the guy had put a new engine in  
it along with other improvements but could not make it"go good enough".   well 
it was a real dog , but it ran good. i finally took it apart.  i found  that 
the output shaft (with 2 sets of splines on one end and 1 on the other) was  
in backwards!. i am not sure how he forced it together , but i am sure that's  
what i found. i expected a bad transmission ,but after replacing the converter 
 and the shaft the car ran very good.  i just had to bring it up....just in  
case....
