Bill your car / gauge / Thermister / wiring is most likely 43 years old!

Use it as a REFERENCE ONLY....

Typical reported temps are 325-475 F     The Snapswitch for the light is at 
575 F [?]

If your engine is not pinging ALL the time at these speeds....and you can 
grab the Dipstick when you pull over....you're fine!

Note:  air exiting shrouds with  Doors working...minimum 225 F!
