<VV> Rear wheel play

So, I moved the back tires on both side of my 65, and
they move...and clunk a little bit.  At first I
thought, sh!t, both of my rear wheel bearings are
messed up, but then my dad said that late models are
supposed to do that?

is this true?

Just curious...don't wanna start daily driving
something if it's messed up.
